    We enjoy sharing our favourite landscapes which usually feature places from our travels. This month, Landscape Design Assistant Lauren shares her love for a local and more exotic landscape. Close to home, Lauren walks with her family and dogs along Macclesfield canal in Congleton and enjoys the peaceful setting. A little further afield, she is dazzled by the blues and greens of the Mallorca coastline, where she has enjoyed multiple holidays. #favouritelandscape #landscapearchitects #landscapedesign #welovenature

Sara won the Business Leader of the Year (under 100 employees) category last year and returned this year as part of the judging panel. With so many innovative and highly-achieving firms, there were tough decisions to make.     We have worked on a number of brilliant school projects with Willmott Dixon and were pleased to be invited to visit Hollycroft Primary School, Leicestershire’s first net-zero school. Senior landscape architect Lyndsey heard from Owls Academy Trust, Willmott Dixon and Leicestershire County Council, and had a behind-the-scenes look at what makes the school so special. Embodied carbon is reduced through a timber frame, M&E features have been left exposed to enrich STEM learning for pupils, and advanced modelling at design stage has enabled the school to reach net-zero for both regulated and unregulated sources of energy.     Have you seen us in the news? Working collaboratively and as a team with planner GraceMachin and Jonathan Hendry Architects, we have secured planning permission for what is known in the industry and as outlined in the National Planning Policy Framework as a ‘Exceptional Paragraph 84 new house’. This is a new single private dwelling in the open countryside in Rutland. As a team with the right expertise, we navigated the robust planning policies and delivered an exception planning application to achieve this outcome for the client. Influence conducted the landscape impact assessment for the property - an essential report for the planning process - and are pleased this remarkable local stone property, which will sit sympathetically in its rural landscape, has been approved. #rutland #landscapearchitect #landscapeassessment

    A stone’s throw from our office in Newark on Trent, Lincoln Collage and G F Tomlinson are constructing an incredible asset in the town, the Air and Space Institute (ASI). The ASI will provide world class training for the air and space industry. Design assistants Jake and Lauren were lucky enough to join a tour of the site which is now well underway and even features a full-size Airbus A318!
