We joined the ProCon Nottinghamshire Property Question Time at @trentbridge Thanks to the panel which included experts from @spenbeckltd GraceMachin, Botham Accounting, @willmottdixon @gleedsglobal and Innes England We also attended the @greaterlincslep Conference at the Lincolnshire Showground.     We are so very proud to be supporting @naomisgardencharity on its new centre project – the charity has secured new premises and alongside a team of construction partners, we are providing pro bono services to make the new building and grounds fit for purpose. Recently, the team at @bandq_uk Louth chose Naomi’s Garden as its charity partner for its volunteering community day - and what a huge difference they have made! The volunteers spent the day in the garden area, clearing, planting, building, painting and more and donated £1,000 worth of B&Q materials needed for the day, such as plants, compost, paint and a bench. Team members from @Wllandscapes also gave their time on the day, preparing the ground and planting a hedge around the garden, which they kindly donated to the project. Thank you to Helen at @Butterflies-TLC for creating the wonderful wooden plaques for us and to Dougie @rusty1967 for his many hours of labour building the planters. We were there too along with partner APSS and I’m sure you’ll agree all the hard work has produced a brilliant result, and the start of a beautiful garden for the families being supported by Naomi’s Garden to enjoy.     Congratulations to Bassetlaw District Council on the planning approval for the redevelopment project of the Priory Centre in Worksop. We were pleased to be appointed as the landscape architect on the scheme by Bassetlaw, delivering design services across RIBA stages 2 to 4, including providing an Illustrative Landscape Masterplan to support the planning application. The £20m project will bring a mix of entertainment, leisure, shopping, dining and public realm to the town centre. A fantastic project that will provide new facilities and green spaces for the local community.     This month we hear from design assistant Jake on his favourite landscape. “From the first time I saw the stunning views of the Velebit National Park in Croatia, I knew that I would struggle to find a more perfectly picturesque landscape in Europe. “Since 2011, I have stayed in the same Croatian fishing village at least once a year, mainly for these stunning views across the crystal blue waters of the Velebit channel backdropped by the looming mountains behind. “I don’t know if you can necessarily class a 145km mountain range as a ‘hidden gem’, but if you can, the Velebit mountains surely are.” Looks incredible Jake, thanks for sharing.     Design assistant Jake has recently started studying to become a Chartered Town Planner, by undertaking a Chartered Town Planning Degree Apprenticeship at @sheffhallamuni This will give him a University Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Urban Planning (undergrad level) and a MSc in Urban Planning (postgrad). Once he has completed this, which is one day at uni a week, he will be able to start the process of becoming a Chartered Town Planner with the @rtpiplanners We are super proud of Jake for finding his passion in town planning during his time with us and for pursuing this as a career.     With the new government in place, there are a huge amount of changes for all industries. We recently joined the Planning and Design Group (UK) Ltd National Planning Policy Framework Breakfast at East Midlands Conference Centre. It was super informative and helpful, outlining Labour’s proposed changes to National Planning Policy Framework. The speakers were Richard Hall, Bob Woollard, David Peck and Daniel Hibberd from P&DG who shared useful intel. The proposed changes will help some and hinder some, but we all need to be aware. Organised by Fiona Duncan Steer and team at @rsvip_ Business Network and @wrennetwork it was relaxed networking over a delicious breakfast, and we were treated to guest speaker, twice World Champion in Paratriathlon, Steve Judge. Guests also had the opportunity to tour the Pavilion Long Room and library at the historic cricket gorund.     We are regulars at the People Planet Pastry event, which was held yesterday at Gusto House in Collingham, near Newark. The event brings businesses together who are at different points in their sustainability journeys. Hosted by Reuseabox™, the first talk was by Steff Wright, chairman of Gusto Group, who spoke about his background, the story of Gusto and some exciting projects they have lined up. Reuseabox spoke about their business but also the story behind these events set up by Adam, the founder of Small99. There was also a talk by Vines Artisan Bakery who are based in Lincoln and who supplied the delicious pastries. They discussed their sustainability story through the medium of a croissant. Good to see so many firms in attendance, wanting to learn and take action. ✅ #sustainablebusiness #landscapearchitects #landscapedesign

    Organised by @ribaeastmidlands Influence's dream team, Shona Hatton, Kathryn Dunk and Lindsey Arkley, spoke at the Lincolnshire Society of Architects Biodiversity Net Gain in Practice event, held at Doddington Hall & Gardens. The afternoon included a site walk and talk around the Hall and gardens while learning how to implement biodiversity net gain effectively into real-life projects. They previewed The Wild House Passivhaus office project designed by Steven Dunn Architects, and learnt about the holistic and impactful approach to sustainability in the recently completed Grain Store Cafe. Part of the panel of experts, Shona, Kathryn and Lindsey led a CPD talk on Biodiversity Net Gain for developments.
