We always have a good selection of biscuits too so always guest ready! The Wheelwrights building is in the heart of the Millgate Conservation area in Newark on Trent and we're surrounded by incredible architecture, history and creative businesses. Throwback Thursday gives us the ideal opportunity. 🌳 Tower Gardens: The refurbishment of Grade II listed gardens in Skegness, bringing back historical features, making the spaces more welcoming and accessible for all 🌳 Chesterfield Canal: Restoration of historic routes, boosting habitats and diversity and enhancing local economic activity 🌳 North Walsham: A High Street Heritage Action Zone project, placemaking, urban planning, revitalising the High Street and areas of the town for community gain 🌳 Kings Mill Reservoir: Landscape around a new boat house and restaurant, native planting, leisure spaces for visitors, accessibility Each project had a strategic, sizeable and important impact on the local community and we're proud to be a part of each.     It's time to play! 🤩 Yesterday the team joined a different kind of networking event with Jupiter Play and Leisure in Nottinghamshire. The company designs interactive, inclusive play equipment for all ages and we tested their products at Ollerton Skate Park, hearing how their designs work for mixed generations, different abilities, neurodivergence, and gender equality. The team also shared case studies from care homes, schools, and public spaces, showing how their projects bring people together and create accessible, engaging environments for everyone.     Over the weekend, Kathryn visited two London exhibitions that are celebrating the strength and importance of plants in both art and everyday life 🌿 At the @saatchi_gallery, Flowers - Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture brings together over 500 artworks exploring the beauty, symbolism, and emotional resonance of flowers. Kathryn particularly enjoyed a breathtaking installation made from over 100,000 dried blooms 🌸 She then went on to the @serpentineuk South Gallery to see Giuseppe Penone - Thoughts in the Roots which offers a reflective and immersive experience of nature’s hidden structures. Book Trees was a standout installation with tree trunks carefully carved away to reveal the 'heart' of the trees that had over time been enfolded by growth rings🌳 Both exhibitions are a timely reminder of how deeply plants are woven into our cultural and emotional landscapes. #londonexhibitions #saatchigallery #serpentinegallery #florainart #giuseppepenone

    Last week we had the pleasure of hosting a brilliant CPD session with Tim O’Hare from Tim O’Hare Associates. Tim delivered an insightful overview on the vital role soil plays in landscape architecture, covering key topics including nature-based solutions, biodiversity net gain (BNG), green infrastructure and the importance of early soil resource surveys and plans. He also shared practice tips for stockpiling, reinstatement and long-term soil care - in line with British Standards.     Colonnade and Pleasure Gardens, Sutton on Sea 🌊 Throwback to a landscape project of ours, the Pleasure Gardens at Sutton on Sea in Lincolnshire. As part of the Mablethorpe Towns Funding, the Pleasure Gardens were restored and made more accessible to visitors. On behalf of East Lindsey District Council we worked to create welcoming and inspiring green spaces for the local community and the many visitors to the coastal town. Last week saw the opening of the Seaview Colonnade, the state of the art pavillion space, providing a hub to support activities, events and tourism.
