We have welcomed Leonie Brown as Principal Architect and Lily Gavin as Graduate Landscape Architect. Leonie and Lily join us with specialist skills, passion and new ideas and we're pleased to have them onboard. Team members Issie, Inga and Jake have been promoted, with Issie becoming Senior Landscape Manager, Inga Landscape Technician, and Jake now an Apprentice Urban Designer.     Project update: Cranfield University 🎓 We are pleased to be working with @cranfielduni in Bedfordshire on several of its fantastic developments. 🌟 Test Bed Phase 1, a new academic teaching and research building is on site and due for completion by @lindumgroup Group in the next couple of months. Located to the east of the university campus, alongside Cranfield Airport, the facility will house individual test cells for research, replacing outdated infrastructure currently located elsewhere on the campus. The landscape proposal includes a large wildflower bund beside the airfield; this feature helps to screen views from the airfield and has aided in the achievement of a high level of bio-diversity net gain for the site. 🌳🌷🌱 🌟 Elsewhere in the campus RG Carter has commenced work to a new Hydrogen Integration Research Centre (HiRC), which will further expand research opportunities at the University. The new two-storey development will infill land between existing buildings, housing laboratory facilities for research and testing as well as offices and meeting spaces. Our landscape design considers the Cranfield Masterplan, that highlights the route to the east of the buildings as a key SUDs corridor. Linear rain gardens are proposed alongside the buildings. 🚶🏻‍♀️🪴🌾 Really proud to be working with the team at the university and alongside these impressive contractors. #cranfielduniversity #universitylandscape #publicrealm #landscapeplanning #landscapedesign #biodiversity #habitats

    🌟 Happy work anniversary to our apprentice Jake! 🌟 This month, we celebrate Jake Haywood being part of the Influence team for the last three years. 🎉 From joining us straight from school to now well on his way to his dream job, Apprentice Urban Designer Jake is an excellent example of our investment in young people, our encouragement of finding different routes into landscape, and an ambitious individual who is thriving as part of our team. A bit more about Jake's journey with Influence: ➡️ Joined Influence in September 2022 following completion of his A Levels in Geography, Project Design and Psychology. ➡️ Started as a Landscape Designer and gained experience in all aspects of Landscape Architecture including landscape planning (producing site visits, supporting figures and report writing) and landscape design. ➡️ During Jake’s first annual review it was identified that he would like to forward his career with Influence via an apprenticeship. ➡️ He started a Level 7 Apprenticeship in Town Planning and Urban Design at Sheffield Hallam University in September 2024 with Influence’s support. His course finishes in June 2028. ➡️ Jake has contributed significantly to the team at Influence and his apprenticeship is enabling him to learn new skills and put those into practice in his work. Well done Jake for taking that first daunting step from school and finding your way, such a pleasure to watch your progression.
