The project
Sea Change Sussex partnership: Boosting the local economy through design
Influence delivered landscape design proposals for a major infrastructure development on the outskirts of Bexhill, East Sussex, supporting planning approval and subsequent delivery on site. The scheme formed part of a wider programme of infrastructure projects in the area, for which Influence provided a range of landscape services.
The design was informed by a detailed understanding of local landscape character and a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, ensuring that potential effects were identified and mitigated. Implemented measures have successfully reduced visual and environmental impacts during both construction and operation.
Ecological enhancement was central to the project, with habitat creation and species mitigation developed in collaboration with specialists. New habitats were integrated with the surrounding landscape, alongside features such as dormouse and badger crossings to support wildlife movement. The completed scheme demonstrates a balanced approach to infrastructure delivery, environmental stewardship and long-term landscape integration.
