The project
Holbeach: Biodiverse landscape reflects agri food industry in new business hub
The South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone (FEZ) at Holbeach is a key part of the UK’s Food Valley, creating a high-quality environment for agri-tech and food manufacturing businesses to innovate and grow. Covering 17 hectares, the development brings together research, education and industry, with facilities including the National Centre for Food Manufacturing, the Institute of Technology and a dedicated Hub offering flexible workspace, offices and laboratories for SMEs.
Influence provided landscape design for the FEZ Hub, developing a strategy that reflects the site’s agricultural context while enhancing biodiversity and connectivity. The scheme integrates native planting, ecological corridors, swales and habitat features, alongside functional spaces such as courtyards, parking and pedestrian routes.
Inspired by “field to fork” principles, the landscape incorporates productive elements including kitchen gardens and fruit trees, supporting both environmental performance and a strong sense of place within this innovative business environment.
