Influence were appointed to support the YMCA for a detailed planning application for a new £12.3m Community and Activity Village in the heart of Newark on Trent. Phase 1 comprised the construction of multi-use all weather sports pitches, 5-a-side pitches, stadium football pitch and a 6-lane full-size athletics track.
Our Phase 1 design included the important retention and enhancement of grassland and landscape habitats within the approved masterplan. Now in Phase 2 the remaining site has been designed to house a cycling track, skate park and community ‘hub’ building including a café from which outdoor play provision will be accessed.
The overall scheme has been designed as a place that can be enjoyed by the whole community, reflecting YMCA’s belief in a holistic approach to sports and family activity.
