Internship programme

A ‘Year Out’ position available to students at University for 2022/2023. Applicants should be ambitious, creative designers and be able to work well within a team.

Favourable attributes include:

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) & Microsoft Office 365
  • Keen interest in the environment, with good attention to detail
  • Experience using AutoCAD is preferential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of plans & figures to support reports
  • Assisting with technical drawings: plans, cross-sections & visualisations
  • Supporting colleagues with project workloads
  • Accompanying colleagues on site visits
  • Team meetings & training

Graduate Landscape Architect

A full-time position as a Graduate Landscape Architect. Applicants must have a BA or MA degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related course.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) & Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and project deadlines
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Eager to undertake additional training and professional development sessions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of plans & figures to support reports
  • Report writing i.e., LVIA
  • Production of technical drawings: plans, cross-sections & visualisations
  • Team & client meetings, site visits & training sessions

Landscape Architect

Influence is seeking to appoint a proficient Landscape Architect to fulfil the role of full-time Landscape Architect. Ideally, applicants would have experience in all aspects of landscape design projects and an understanding of landscape planning.

This member of the team will have a degree or post graduate qualification in landscape architecture/design with experience in all aspects of landscape design projects and an understanding of landscape planning. They will have an involvement in the delivery of projects, including communication with clients and sub-consultants in order to meet objectives. It is essential that applicants have a strong work ethic with the ability to prioritise multiple projects and tasks to meet tight deadlines. It is preferential but not essential for applicants to be Chartered Members of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) and have experience in managing projects.

Applicants should have good, proven, all round landscape experience to enable them to work on a variety of projects including design and LVIA. A successful candidate would be able to demonstrate strong technical, design and documentation capabilities with experience across a wide range of project types and all work stages. Applicants should be creative and well-organised with good written and oral communication skills and experience of managing their own workload with minimal supervision in a proactive and efficient manner. The successful individual will be dedicated, flexible and happy to assist at all levels of the business and work well in a team.

Favourable attributes include:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud (including Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign), Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience in the use of GIS, Sketchup, Keyscape and Vectorworks is desirable but not essential
  • 1-3 years practical working experience post degree
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • A full driving licence is essential and use of your own vehicle is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing other team members including graduates, if and when required
  • Design and construction drawing production
  • Report writing i.e., LVIA
  • Client liaison
