Designing a haven for yachts

Influence has been appointed by the Royal Southern Yacht Club (RSYC) to provide landscape design for the Prince Philip Yacht Haven, a proposed development on the River Hamble near Southampton.

Influence is delighted to be part of a new chapter in the RSYC’s history. We’ll be working alongside lead consultants Marina Projects Ltd and engineers Opus International Consultants (UK) Ltd, creating a new club with huge environmental improvements. These include: a new sea wall; flood protection; improved marina facilities; a new Quarter Deck for al fresco dining and parties; and disabled access, a first for the River Hamble.

We recently presented concept options for the landscape, which incorporate modern materials, contemporary landscape planting and bespoke furniture to reinforce the coastal setting and provide flexibility. Our proposals create a strong sense of arrival, emphasising stunning waterfront views while reflecting the club’s historical setting in the Hamble Conservation Area. Endorsed by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron of the RSYC, the scheme will ensure the club’s status as one of the best in the world.
