Premier Inn

Creating a distinct sense of place for a big brand hotel

With over 100 bedrooms, Premier Inn Winchester will provide the city with one of its largest hotels. Led by Reef Estates on behalf of Premier Inn, the development occupies a ‘brownfield’ site – land previously used for industrial or commercial purposes. Working with LHC Architects, Influence developed a landscape concept and detailed design to support the planning application. We also contributed arboricultural advice to safeguard important trees on or around the site.

Our landscape proposals create a sense of place by referencing the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park. This included a stylized modern entrance to the hotel with rendered whitewalls, water features, seating opportunities and native planting that echoes the surrounding downland – the open chalk hills found in the surrounding landscape.
