Studio Open Day

Influence open their doors to students:

At the end of June students from Greenwich, Sheffield and Leeds attended an open day at our head office.

The Influence team visited End of Year Shows and were really impressed with the calibre of the work on show.

An invitation was then extended to students from the shows giving them the opportunity to visit our Newark office, to meet the Influence team, look at our work, ask practicing professionals about their working life and discuss job opportunities.

The students were welcomed to the office with a short presentation on the business and an informal chat with some members of the team.

They were then given the chance to look at current work being undertaken covering our full range of services.  On the design side this covered small garden design projects through to residential housing schemes, to large infrastructure projects. There was a specific presentation on the design and implementation of the International Bomber Command Centre, Memorial Park in Lincoln with still and moving imagery of the developing site.

On the landscape and environmental planning side, students heard about our extensive LVIA work and staff explained the nuances of the process.

There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions about projects and about working in a Landscape Architecture practice. Students left with real insight into working practice.

The afternoon was a great success for both the team at Influence and for the students.

The process will happen again in June 2018, so if you are reading this as a budding Landscape Architect look out for details next year. We hope to see you when our doors will be open once more.
